This year marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth. In 1927, there were grand commemorations on the 100th anniversary of the death of Beethoven. This was just after the introduction of electrical recording and such maestros as Beecham and Weingartner took part in recording Beethoven symphonies. On Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will hear some recordings of Beethoven's best works.
