Big ego, bigger film!

Everything about Richard Wagner was big: his ideas, his festival theatre, the length of this operas. So, it is fitting that when the BBC made a movie about Wagner in 1983, it should be of epic length. None other than Richard Burton was talked into playing The Maestro. On Saturday at 11, we will play some of the glorious Wagner music which they used in the film to illustrate his life.
