The 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth was recently celebrated. In 1927, the 100th anniversary of his death was commemorated. Using the new electrical method of recording, Columbia Records, and other companies, issued recordings of many of the Beethoven symphonies.

On Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will sample some of these recordings from that festive year.
