Classics of the Phonograph: Il Trovatore

In the 1940s and 1950s, the "Verdi Wing" at the Metropolitan Opera was world famous. On any night at the Met, you were likely to hear the voices of Swedish tenor Jussi Bjorling, Yugoslav soprano Zinka Milanov, and American baritone Leonard Warren. Together, these singers recorded Verdi's opera "Il Trovatore," and we will hear highlights from this recording on Saturday, October 25th, at 11 AM, only on Illinois Classical 90.9.
