Debussy and Ravel
Whether they liked it or not, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, although different in many ways, are frequently compared. Their string quartets appeared ten years apart, and Ravel was accused of plagiarizing from Debussy, but Debussy told Ravel not to change a single note.
On this week's Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will hear both of these two masterpieces of French chamber music.
