Few young conductors of the past generation have skyrocketed to fame as swiftly and as brilliantly as Gustavo Dudamel. While still in his twenties, he gained a recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon label for his Simon Bolivar Youth Symphony Orchestra. Since 2009, he has gained critical acclaim on the podium of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. On Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will hear samples of his conducting with various orchestras.
