Classics of the Phonograph

Holiday season

What is lonelier that a Christmas LP in July? Holiday-time records may have a short life spam, but they have been best sellers since the time of Enrico Caruso and John McCormack. Everybody seems to make them, especially opera divas, but well known choruses get into the act, and medieval and baroque groups put their special stylistic stamp on the old favorites. On this week's Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will ride Santa's sleigh back down the decades.
