In the 1930s and 40s, three American composers produced "Third Symphonies". In an era when people tried to declare works of various genres as the "Greatest American," at least two of these symphonies vied for that title. And all three were connected to the famous Russian conductor Serge Koussevitzky.

On this week's Classics of the Phonograph, Saturday at 11 am on WILL-FM, we will hear from these "Trio of Thirds."
