The programs open with the Ravel Piano Trio in A minor of 1914, and a work of 30 years later, the Shostakovich 2nd Piano Trio (1944), then music by Campion, Takemitsu and Brahms.
Also on the program Tchaikovsky's "4th Symphony".
Music of Wagner and Bruckner (his 9th Symphony).
Also on the program the "Overture to 'La clemenza di Tito'" and "Exsultate, jubilate".
Mahler wrote the 6th Symphony during a 'happy' period of his life, earkly 1900s, yet the work is full of pathos and sadness....
This week's "Evening Concert" has music by Mahler, Mozart, Bruckner, Tchaikovsky and many others.
From Lincoln Center, you'll also hear Crusell's Clarinet Quartet, and from Santa Fe you'll also hear Frank Bridge's "Lament" for Two Violas.
She performs with the Milwaulee Symphony Orchestra on the Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin from 1780.
She's the soloist with the Cleveland Orchestra in two cello concertos by two "Edwards/Eduoards": Elgar and Lalo.
