Tuesday night November 4 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear suites from two of Tchaikovsky’s three famous ballets: “The Sleeping Beauty” and “Swan Lake” plus music by Johann Strauss, Jr..  

The New York Philharmonic This Week

Monday night November 3 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Liszt’s “A Faust Symphony”, Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain”, Berlioz’s “Dream of a Witches’ Sabbath” and Gounod’s “Ballet Music from Faust”.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Fiesta!

Sunday night November 2 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear music by Tchaikovsky and Brahms on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear a program called “Visions of Mexico” on “Fiesta”.

Friday night October 31 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear a program new to our schedule coming to us from the Heifetz International Music Institute in Staunton (STAN-tun), VA called “Heifetz On Air”. Tonight’s program is called “Opening Night”.

Los Angeles Philharmonic

Wednesday night October 29 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear the fourth program in a new season from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Susanna Mälkki guest conducts Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony” and Richard Strauss’ “Death and Transfiguration”. Also on the program Saariaho’s “HUSH”.

Wednesday night October 22 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear the third program in a new season from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Alexandre Kantorow is the soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”. Also on the program Rachmaninoff’s “3rd Symphony”.
