Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Recorded in 2020 we’ll hear a concert version of Mascagni’s “Cavalleria rusticana” with vocalists Anita Rachvelishvili, Sasha Cooke, Piero Pretti and others. Also on the program Bizet’s “Roma” Symphony.


Nikolaj Znaider plays Elgar’s “Violin Concerto”

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. From the Philharmonic’s archives, Nikolaj Znaider is the soloist in Elgar’s “Violin Concerto”. Sir Colin Davis guest conducts. Also on the program “Elgar’s “Introduction and Allegro” and Mozart’s “Linz” Symphony.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Elgar’s “Violin Concerto” from New York, Mascagni’s “Cavalleria rusticana” from Chicago, Beethoven’s “Eroica” Symphony from Schwetzingen, Saint-Saens’ “Organ Symphony” from San Francisco, then Sunday Mozart’s “K.563 Divertimento” from Lincoln Center and chamber music by Sean Shepard from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt leads the group in Brahms “4th Symphony” and Beethoven’s “2nd Symphony”. Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings” is also on the program.
