Music by Debussy, Dvorak, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and others.

Friday night November 14 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s “Heifetz On Air”. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “4th String Quartet” and other chamber music works by Brahms and Haydn from the 2024 Heifetz summer season.

Wednesday night November 12 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s the Los Angeles Philharmonic. You’ll hear Mahler’s “5th Symphony” led by Gustavo Dudamel. Also on the program “Five Songs” by Alma Mahler featuring soprano Sasha Cooke.

Tuesday night November 11 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Vadim Gluzman is the soloist in Shostakovich’s “1st Violin Concerto” with David Afkham guest conducting. You’ll also hear Debussy’s “La Mer” and Ravel’s “La Valse”.  

Monday night November 10 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Milhaud’s “Suite française”, Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite”, Hindemith’s “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d” and Rodger’s “Carousel Waltz”.
