Tonight at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “In Italy with Las Ratas”. Broadcasting this program Friday nights at 7:00 permits us to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”.

The musicians of Ratas del viejo Mundo call themselves "Old World rodents who travel the length and

breadth of Europe to form their own rat pack- focusing on instrumental music, songs, and secular

polyphony before 1600". Who can resist a name like that? And their music is just as compelling! We'll

hear selections from their recordings, including Ossesso and Music at the Farnese Court in

Renaissance Parma.
