A Dvorak “String Quintet” and music by Buxtehude on the “Evening Concert”

 

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Dvorak’s 2nd String Quintet and Debussy’s “Sacred and Profane Dances” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 it’s “Buxtehude’s “Abendmusik” on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

Dieterich Buxtehude's Advent concert series called "Abendmusik" was so popular, police had to be on hand for crowd control! This week's show gives an idea of the draw of Buxtehude's music, with a recent release from Vox Luminis and Ensemble Masques.
