Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on WILL FM-90.9 you’ll hear the delightful, rarely-heard Piano Quintet of Louis Vierne on the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. At 8:00 it’s “Song: Mirror of the World” Episode 11: The new World Order, songs of WWII and beyond.

The New World Order

World War II had a deep influence on composers. The program begins with Benjamin Britten’s “Death, Be Not Proud,” then explores how post-war challenges brought a new appreciation of folksong, how atonality gained influence, and how artists coped under repressive regimes.
