The Complete Brandenburg Concertos by J. S. Bach on tonight’s “Evening Concert”

Common wisdom is that the Margrave (of Brandenburg) never bothered to perform these fabulous works [Bach's Brandenburg Concertos], and perhaps never even examined the score.**  Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 guest conductor Nicholas Kraemer leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from the harpsichord bench in the complete Brandenburg Concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach. The concert was recorded late last year and features “principals” from the orchestra as soloists.
