It’s an all-Berlioz program on tonight’s “Evening Concert”
Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the second program in the new “Carnegie Hall Live!” series. It’s an all-Berlioz program with Antoine Tamestit as the viola soloist in “Harold in Italy” with the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique led by John Eliot Gardiner. Also on the program “Le Corsaire” Overture.

For this episode of Carnegie Hall Live, the period-instrument ensemble Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique led by John Eliot Gardiner presented an all-Berlioz program. The centerpiece of the broadcast was Harold in Italy, a work that beautifully shows the composer's talent for painting pictures with music. The featured soloist was violist Antoine Tamestit. The night's selections also included a pair of vocal works, La mort de Cléopâtre and excerpts from his grand opera Les Troyens, featuring mezzo-soprano Lucile Richardot.
