On the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, comedian Dick Gregory says young people have inherited social problems from “old fools” that must now be solved. He says a major tension point between blacks and whites is a misunderstanding about why blacks are reacting to racism: “Any old fool knows this is a racist county that oppresses folks.” He says the county has been separate for too long, and he urges black people to embrace their heritage.
