Beyond the Tie-Dye: Counterculture in Champaign-Urbana, 1965-1975 - November 24, 2011

Team Member Sarah Bio

My name is Sarah Yockey and I am a co-producer for the Counterculture project. Five years ago I did my first interview for the Gender Equity project, and from then on I was hooked. I interned on the Gender Equity project and the Disability Rights project before starting on Counterculture.

My favorite part of this project has been the people. I loved searching for people to interview! Our team did crazy things while pursuing interviewees, even trying to track someone down through their supposedly favorite Mexican restaurant! I also held a mostly coherent pre-interview with an ER doctor who had just gotten off a 24 hour shift at 10pm. The challenges are what makes this project so interesting to work on!
