Team Member Sonie Bio

Hello people that come to this site 😏  my name is Sonie and I was born in Monrovia, Liberia. I can to the states when I was 3 going on 4. I then left for Germany and returned in the year 2003. I am currently 14 years old and attend Jefferson Middle School. Last year in 7th grade I participated in Youth Media Workshop. It was a project that worked with African American youth in the Cities of Champaign and Urbana to create a video that speaks to an audience on what makes a community. My final video from the project swayed away from the theme and I instead had created a video that tells youth-or any age or persons-the importance of receiving and education. That project went well and I was happy to have been given the chance to create such an video. I am now in my eighth grade year and I was given another chance to work with WILL. This time though the project is even bigger. In fact I'm in the process of creating a video that celebrates the City of Champaign, which I presently live in. This video is going to share the history of Champaign and 10 great individuals that are part of it's history and have a part  in making Champaign what it is today. A few just grew up in to Champaign and have things they'd like too share and give their thoughts on for its  future. Well, I'll be blogging about the experience to keep everyone up date and I hope you wish me luck. c ya 😉
