When is Art Forgery a Crime?
The New York Times last week noted the case of a curious forger. A man named Mark Landis has been going around the country, donating works to museums that he claims are by more famous artists - not in exchange for money but what the Times reported was "a kind of satisfaction at seeing his works accepted as authentic."
