Doc Severinsen Brings His Band to Bloomington

I don’t mind going on record as saying that no late-night talk show today can hold a candle to The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Johnny himself was of course the biggest reason for that. Running perhaps a close second was Doc Severinsen, the colorful trumpet player who led The Tonight Show Band for nearly all of Johnny’s tenure. Doc Severinsen will bring his big band to Bloomington Saturday, and he’ll be my guest on the Thursday edition of “Live and Local.”
