Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen in Urbana; the Illinois Symphony in Bloomington & Springfield

Steve Gillette has been writing songs since the 60s, some of which have been covered by the likes of John Denver, Garth Brooks and Linda Ronstadt. Cindy Mangsen has been called “one of the finest singers in American folk music.” Together, they have been performing and recording for more than twenty years. They’ll play in Urbana on Wednesday, and they’ll be my guests on the Monday edition of “Live and Local.” We’ll also hear about the upcoming pops concerts by the Illinois Symphony Orchestra.
