Verdi’s Requiem in Urbana; EIU Jazz Ensemble in Charleston

Composer Giuseppe Verdi was born two hundred years ago last month, and to celebrate the occasion, Sinfonia da Camera and multiple choirs at the University of Illinois will perform his incredibly dramatic Requiem Mass Thursday night. I’ll talk with conductor Ian Hobson on the Wednesday edition of “Live and Local.” We’ll also hear from Professor Sam Fagaly about Thursday night’s concert by the Eastern Illinois University Jazz Ensemble in Charleston.
