Live and Local

Ozomatli; Tatsu Aoki; the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra

On the Wednesday edition of "Live and Local," we'll hear about three groups playing in the evening at the Krannert Center in Urbana: Ozomatli, a band from East LA that mashes many styles of danceable music; Tatsu Aoki, who leads an improvisational fusion of Japanese music and jazz; and the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra, playing Smetana, Mozart and Tchaikovsky. NOTE: The second audio clip is the rest of my conversation (quite extended) with Wil-Dog Abers, bassist with Ozomatli--including where he got his own name--which didn't make it into the broadcast.
