Robin Kelley on Thelonious Monk

Professor Robin Kelley is Professor of American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California. He is the author of a number of prize-winning books with topics ranging widely, including but not limited to history of black radical movements in the U.S., the African Diaspora, and Africa. He has written widely for publications such as The Nation, Monthly Review, The Voice Literary Supplement, New York Times (Arts and Leisure), New York Times Magazine and Rolling Stone magazine.
