Mid-American Gardener

How to Grow a Successful Vegetable Gardening in Every Landscape

This week on Mid-American Gardener, Martie and Kay give us a lot of great tips on how to maintain a healthy, bountiful garden no matter how much space you might have.

Dwarf tomatoes are great in pots and perfect for balcony gardens, and leafy greens like the kale and chard Kay is growing are prolific and simple to grow in containers. They add a lot of fiber and vitamins to your diet and make for a beautiful ornamental plant in your garden if nothing else.

Martie then identifies a mystery grass that has been spreading in Kay’s yard. She believes it is nimblewill, and unfortunately, the only way to get rid of it completely is to pull it. You can spot treat it, but you also want to be careful not to kill your healthy grass as well.

Viewers were also wondering about how to get Morning Glory to bloom, the secret to harvesting a large onion, and how to protect tulips from the critters.

As always, if you’ve got any questions for our panelists or suggestions for gardens or greenhouses that we should visit, please send us an email at yourgarden@gmail.com com, or you can find us on Facebook and Instagram.
