Mid-American Gardener

The Herb Gardens at Kennekuk County Park, Danville

This week, Tinisha Spain welcomes viewers to another episode of Mid-American Gardener from the beautiful Bunker Hill Herb Garden at Kennekuk County Park in Vermilion County.

Master Gardener Kasi Mitchell gives us a guided tour of this hidden gem as we explore beautifully maintained themed gardens filled with culinary herbs, biblical herbs, fragrant plants, and herbs traditionally used to create natural dyes. Along the way, we even run into an old friend, making the visit feel even more like a stroll through the community.

Whether you're looking to add herbs to your landscape, discover plants with fascinating histories, or simply enjoy a peaceful garden tour, this episode offers inspiration, practical tips, and plenty of reasons to visit this unique destination.
