One of the biggest changes Gov. Bruce Rauner proposed in today's budget address is making local school districts bear the costs of teacher pensions. The idea has been kicked around by both parties for years, most recently in Rauner’s bipartisan, bicameral school funding reform commission.
When out campaigning, Governor Bruce Rauner has been making big claims about lowering taxes. But there was little follow-through in Wednesday's budget proposal.

Hot shooting, strong rebounding and balanced scoring helped Indiana beat the Illini men 78-68 last night in Bloomington.
The Broward County, Fla., sheriff said 17 people are dead in the Wednesday shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the city of Parkland, northwest of Fort Lauderdale. He said a suspect is in custody.
