It’s Almost FAFSA Time; What’s New In 2016

Saturday is the first day that prospective college students and their families can begin filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA for short.  That’s much earlier than in previous years, and that’s not the only change in the FAFSA process in 2016.

Suspect In Campustown Fatal Shooting Now In Custody

Champaign Police say Robbie M. Patton, 18, of Champaign turned himself in to authorities Thursday night, reporting to the Champaign County Jail at 10:15 p.m. He's charged with First Degree Murder in connection with the early Sunday morning shooting death of George Korchev of Mundelein. He also faces a count of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Bond is set at $5-million.
