Ameren Supervisor Reflects on 13 Days of Relief from Sandy

Leads Champaign utility crew in New Jersey

The devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy not only meant federal agencies and groups like the Red Cross took immediate action, but other expertise was needed in a number of areas, including utility workers.

Dan Mushrush led a 12-man crew of Ameren linemen from the Champaign area to New Jersey for about two weeks. He says the damage from Sandy they dealt with wasn’t quite the disaster zone some might imagine, but altogether, the work was a rewarding experience.

Illinois Public Media’s Jeff Bossert spoke with the Ameren supervisor about his crew’s 13 days of work.
