Farnham To Appear In Court On Child Porn Charge

A former Illinois state representative will make his first court appearance since a federal complaint charged him with possession of child pornography.

A judge is likely to ask Keith Farnham at Wednesday's hearing if he understands the allegations and his rights.

The 66-year-old Democrat from Elgin resigned his seat in March. It happened just days after agents searched his home and his state office.

The complaint released Monday says Farnham possessed videos depicting child pornography on a computer. The document also provides graphic details about images allegedly sought and traded by Farnham online. Some were allegedly of children under 10 years old.

After he resigned last month, Farnham said he had to attend to "battling serious health issues.'' Messages left for him seeking comment this week weren't returned.
