FBI Says Car Involved In Abduction Of Missing U Of I Scholar Found

The FBI said Tuesday that it has located the car investigators say was involved in the abduction of missing University of Illinois scholar Yingying Zhang.

A Saturn Astra like the one the FBI says has been found in the search for Yingying Zhang.

But FBI spokesman Brad Ware declined to say where or when the black Saturn Astra was found or provide other updates on the case other than investigators believe they are making progress.

The Astra is not a common car and was only sold in the United States for a couple of years.

Zhang was last seen on surveillance camera footage climbing into the car on the north side of the university campus in Urbana on June 9.

Zhang is from China and arrived as a visiting scholar in April.

The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to Zhang. The university and local Crime Stoppers have announced a separate $40,000 reward.
