Finchley Boys Reuniting For Red Lion Event, CD Release

The Finchley Boys were one of Champaign-Urbana’s most popular bands during the area’s rock heyday of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Although the band broke up in 1974, they’re reuniting this weekend for the Red Lion Inn 50th Anniversary Reunion at The City Center in downtown Champaign.
Plus, Parasol Records is releasing the Finchley Boys lone studio album, "Everlasting Tributes," and their live 2010 reunion album, "Every Now and Then," this week for the first time on CD. Three members of the Finchley Boys, guitarist Garrett Oostdyk, bassist Larry Tabeling, and guitarist/vocalist Jim Cole joined Illinois Public Media’s Brian Moline this week to talk about the reunion, the album, and how the band got started in the late 1960’s.
In this interview we hear The Finchley Boys with “Help Me Baby” from their live 2010 reunion album “Every Now And Then,” available this week from Parasol Records. You also hear portions of “It All Ends” and “I’m Not Like Everybody Else” from the CD reissue of their 1972 album “Everlasting Tributes,” also available from Parasol.
