December is a busy month for many high school seniors and their parents who are planning for college.  Many students who applied early have been notified by colleges and universities about their status, but there are several different categories in what are called “early pools.”

Lisa Micele is College and Career Counselor at University Laboratory High School in Urbana.  Illinois Public Media’s Brian Moline spoke with Micele about these “early pools,” and what comes next in the admissions process.

Micele says the biggest key for applicants to remember if they have been deferred is to follow the directions from the college admissions department.  She says they’ll tell you exactly what additional information they need to make a final admission decision.
