One of the longest running traditions on the University of Illinois Urbana campus gives people some holiday cheer on demand.

University Housing’s 57th annual Dial-A-Carol continues through Wednesday night at midnight.

Kelly Skinner with University Housing says their student volunteers are standing by 24-7 for your carol request.

“They request any holiday song that they want to," Skinner said. "The students have a book with different words to different songs, but if they don’t know, they certainly look it up, or they make it up (laugh).”

She says this year, 100 volunteers are staffing Dial-a-Carol around the clock. They typically get between 10,000-12,000 calls a season.

“We get calls from across the state of Illinois, we get calls from across the country and we even get calls from other countries,” Skinner said.

She says University Housing is hoping to get 15,000 calls before midnight Wednesday night.
