Nathan Gunn Directs, Sings Lyric Theatre’s ‘Don Giovanni’
The title character the opera “Don Giovanni” is transformed from a nobleman to a corporate raider in Lyric Theatre at Illinois’ production of the Mozart classic.
“Don Giovanni” opens Thursday at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Illinois Urbana campus.
In addition to singing the lead for three performances, Nathan Gunn is trying his hand at directing for the first time.
Nathan and several other performers and directors came to WILL for a preview of this updated production of Don Giovanni.
Don Giovanni (Nathan Gunn) and Leporello (Dean Moore) perform the duet "Eh via buffone" – "Go on, fool."
Leporello (Dean Moore) sings "Madamina, il catalogo è questo."
Donna Anna (Yunji Shim) and Don Ottavio (Ryan Johnson) sing "Ah, vendicar, se il puoi, giura quel sangue ognor!"
