Roads Closed Due To Flooding: State Police

Illinois State Police report flooding had closed several roads Sunday morning in their District 10 jurisdiction, which covers much of east-central Illinois.

Closed highways include:

US Route 150 closed .5 miles east of Mansfield
US Route 136 closed 1 mile east of Fisher
US Route 136 closed between Champaign CR 200E and Champaign CR 300E
IL Route 47 has water that has encroached the roadway along the sides between Mahomet and Fisher

State Police caution that road conditions may change rapidly because of continued rain, and motorists should use caution, reduce speed, and never drive into water that is covering a roadway.

Illinois State Police also advises extreme caution when approaching stationary authorized emergency vehicles with their lights activated on the roadways.  Authorized emergency vehicles include police, fire, EMS, and other emergency vehicles.  It is the law to proceed with due caution, change lanes if possible, and reduce speed.
