Four area musicians will perform at “That’s Amore: a Valentine’s Dinner and Love Song Serenade,” at Silvercreek Restaurant in Urbana on Tuesday February 12th.

The event will feature soprano Dawn Harris, bass-baritone Ronald Hedlund, pianist Rick Murphy, and cellist Barbara Hedlund.

The event is a fundraiser for the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra Guild to raise money for their free concerts for schoolchildren in our area. Illinois Public Media’s Brian Moline spoke with two of the musicians performing on February 12th, Ronald Hedlund and Barbara Hedlund,  who coordinates in-school performances for the CUSO. She said deciding on a program wasn’t easy to do.

"I have to admit we've had a lot of trouble deciding because there's so much music one could present," Barbara Hedlund said. "We'd think of a program, and then we'd go, 'Oh, I forgot about that song,' and 'I forgot about that love song.'"

You can get tickets and find more information at the C-U Symphony's website. The deadline to register for this event is Saturday, Feburary 2.
