The founding editor of Deadspin made his name writing about sports, but has turned to politics in time for the 2016 presidential election.  Will Leitch stopped by the WILL studios to talk with Brian Moline.

Leitch is on the University of Illinois' Urbana campus this week, speaking with current students, and serving on a tech panel at this weekend's Pygmalion Festival.  He says his message to students is a simple one.

"You find out what you want to do, and you stick to that," Leitch said.  "You stay on your path and work hard at it, eventually people will find you."

After writing about sports for more than a decade, Leitch has branched out into politics and culture in time for the 2016 presidential election, writing for Bloomberg.

"This was supposed to be the election season that the discussion, particularly on the Republican side, was supposed to be high minded," he said.  "And then Trump showed up, and that changed everything."

Leitch also writes for Sports on Earth, New York Magazine, and Deadspin
