Woman Injured in Urbana Shooting

Urbana Police are investigating whether a shooting in their city overnight is connected to recent shootings in Champaign.

Police says three women reported being shot at by unknown gunmen, around 12:30 AM early Tuesday morning. One of the three suffered a grazing wound to the head, and was taken to Carle hospital --- the others, ages 18 and 20, were not injured. Police say the alleged shooters were driving behind the women’s car, and got out and fired shots at them near the intersection of Race and Montclair in Urbana.

According to police, the victims then drove off to the to the east , reaching the dead end cul-de-sac at 400 Burkwood Court West. There, they began knocking on nearby doors asking for help. Police and Emergency Services personnel responded.
