We’d love to show you around our new state-of-the art facility, including our radio and television studios, editing and master control rooms. Because we get so many requests, we’ve developed the following guidelines.

Times available

Tours are given Monday through Friday between 9 am-5 pm, and Thursday evenings between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

Tours for children

Children and parents as well as school, daycare and day camp groups are welcome. Children must be a mature eight years old and older. One parent/teacher/guardian or group leader should be present for every five children.

Tour size

Ideal tour size is seven per WILL staff member, but groups of up to 30 may be accommodated provided additional WILL staff can be scheduled. Groups of more than 30 can be split into smaller groups and scheduled at different times or one right after the other.

Scheduling a tour

Tours should be scheduled no less than two weeks in advance by contacting Elizabeth Weathers at 217-244-2625. We cannot accommodate unscheduled, drop-in requests for tours.

Special Needs

If your group has special needs, please make this known at the time you schedule your tour so we can best fills those needs. For example, when we’ve had guests with visual impairments, we’ve tailored our tours to focus more heavily on radio than television.

Parking

Metered parking at $.25/20 minutes (some meters take quarters only) is available on Clark and Main Streets on either side of the building. Parking in university Lot B22 on Clark Street between Goodwin and Harvey is free for Thursday evening tours.
