The cantatas are among Bach’s most significant works. The two on this program, for Pentecost and for Trinity, are from his Leipzig period at the Thomaskirche when he wrote a different cantata for each Sunday of the liturgical year. Andrew Megill, Director of Choral Activities, leads the Allerton Bach choir, orchestra, and soloists.
