The Jupiter Quartet, the University of Illinois School of Music’s quartet-in-residence, performs the Brahms Sextet No. 2 in G Major, op. 36, with winners of the Quartet’s 2nd annual Guest Artist Award, Kim Uwate, viola and Seungwon Chung, cello; and spirituals with Faculty Artist Ollie Watts Davis. Also on the program is the Dvořák String Quartet in F Major, op 96 (“American”), written during a vacation in Spillville, Iowa, which was home to a Czech immigrant community.
