April in Paris
On this week's Prairie Performances, Friday night at 7 pm on WILL-FM 90.9, features familiar French favorites in this light and uplifting concert with the Illinois Symphony. Chabrier's "Habanera" will fascinate with its shifting rhythms and melodies, Faure's beguiling and ethereal "Pavane;” the romance and magic of Debussy's "Clair de lune"; Ravel's homage to French musicians with "Le Tombeau de Couperin"; and Mozart's classical essay for a Parisian audience, the Symphony NO. 31 (Paris).
