Celebrating Britten’s birth

This week on Prairie Performances, we hear the Illinois Symphony Chamber Orchestra in a performance of Gerald Finzi’s Romance. Tenor William Burden and the ISO’s principal horn Stephen Hanrahan give a performance of Benjamin Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Britten’s birth, and the evening ends with the symphonic poem Introduction and Allegro for Strings by Edward Elgar.
