On this week's Prairie Performances, Friday at 7 pm on WILL-FM 90.9, Classically Black continues with a salute to America’s heritage via this musical biography of the “Dean of Afro-American Composers”, William Grant Still.

In the second portion of the program, composer George Walker joins Sinfonia da Camera—led by Ian Hobson—for “Movements for Cello and Orchestra” featuring Dmitry Kouzov. You will also hear a performance of “Lilacs,” a work for tenor and orchestra for which Walker won the Pulitzer Prize.
