An Old-Fashioned Salute to Labor Day

Roger presents a concert from the 2012 Allerton Music Barn Festival featuring marches, ragtime and patriotic music.

The concert features Sousa-era repertoire such as Arthur Pryor’s “Annie Laurie,” and Sousa’s own “Easter Monday on the White House Lawn” ragtime will be featured alongside popular marches, including “The Washington Post” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” The program also includes an armed forces medley and the popular “Summertime” from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. Yvonne Redman, soprano, and Elliot Chasanov, trombone, are featured performers.
