Sinfonia da Camera’s Messiah and Mendelssohn (12/5/14) features Ian Hobson as music director and conductor; joined by the U of I Chorale and U of I Oratorio Society with Andrew Megill as choral conductor.
Mendelssohn | Symphony No. 5 in D Major, op. 107, “Reformation”
Mendelssohn’s exuberant “Reformation” symphony, which memorializes the Augsburg Confession of centuries past and the second half of the program features the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah with the famous “Hallelujah Chorus.”
