This week’s episode of Prairie Performances features a full program of music for organ, the so-called “King of Instruments,” along with a few of its royal relatives. Program highlights include the Allegro from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Sonata no. 5 in C major BWV 529, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Fantasia in F minor K.608, Louis Vierne’s “Impromptu” from Pieces de Fantasie, and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra’s rendition of Francis Poulenc’s Organ Concerto in G minor featuring soloist Felix Hell and conductor Ken Lam.
