Dedicated “To the memory of an angel”...Do you know the reference?
It's a famous dedication written at the top of the score for Berg's "Violin Concerto". The angel? Manon Gropius, daughter of Alma (Mahler) and Walter Gropius (who was one of the founders of the Bauhaus school of architecture).
Bach’s “2nd Orchestral Suite”, plus chamber music by Telemann, Zemlinksy, Berg and others tonight
The Bach Orchestral Suite is the last work tonight, preceded by Telemann (an Overture-Suite) and preceding that, a string quartet and other chamber music from ealy 20th C Vienna.
