The Illini men’s basketball team ended a three-game losing skid last night in Evanston with a 68-61 win over the Northwestern Wildcats. Four Illini scored in double figures, led by Malcolm Hill, whose 14 points all came in the second half.
Wisconsin Thumps Cold-Shooting Illini Men
The 10th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers jumped out to a 16-2 lead last night in cruising to a 57-43 victory over the Illini men in Champaign. The Badgers had an off-night shooting, but the Illini were worse. Illinois shot just 28-percent from the field, and 24-percent from behind the three-point arc.
Finke Leads Illini Men Past Hawkeyes
Michael Finke scored a game-high 17 points to help the Illini men break a three-game losing skid, winning 76-64 over the Iowa Hawkeyes last night in Champaign. Both teams are now in a five-way tie for 9th place in the Big Ten, with a conference record of 3-5. Illinois improves to 13-8 overall. Iowa drops to 11-10 on the year.
